Fun Fact: The name Yayoi is the Old Japanese way of saying the month of March. However, she was not born in March, but rather in September. She was born in Johannesburg, South Africa in the Southern Hemisphere where the seasons are reversed. Therefore, it was Spring in September. Hence, her father got creative with her name. She is also bi-cultural (Japan and the US) and bilingual in Japanese and English having lived in both countries.
