Risk Factors For Dementia That Your Doctor Isn't Telling You

Jun 10, 2024
Why are your doctors not talking to you about dementia prevention in your 30s and 40s? Because most MDs and DOs were not trained on the many risk factors of dementia, starting with using Brain SPECT imaging and what we refer to as the Bredesen Protocol labwork. Dr. Dale Bredesen is the world's leading dementia and Alzheimer's expert, a neurologist, who has helped thousands of patients reverse their dementia diagnosis. Once realizing many of the risk factors were detectable decades before his patients were getting to them with severe cognitive/memory issues, he put together an incredible protocol which this writer has been fortunate to study and implement with her clients of all ages-- including herself who saw her multiple dementia risks in her own blood work and Brain SPECT scan at the age of 28. Over a decade later, this writer's brain gets younger and healthier, now knowing exactly what to do and not do to promote dementia processes in the brain and body.

You may have heard of "the Alzheimer's gene." What you may not have heard is that this is only one biomarker of hundreds that you need to know if you want to prevent Alzheimer's. Genetics plays much less important when it comes to overall health and well-being, especially dementia.

Dementia is an umbrella term used for severe cognitive impairment and memory loss. There are multiple types of dementia, Alzheimer's Disease being the most common type.

The most important lab number isn't your "Alzheimer's gene," the APOE gene. There are SO many more important biological markers that you can monitor now and throughout your life to ensure you don't develop dementia.

Risk factors (that are easy to treat) for dementia:

  • depression
  • heart disease
  • erectile dysfunction
  • ADHD
  • high blood pressure
  • long COVID pre-diabetes and diabetes
  • insulin resistance
  • PCOS
  • anxiety disorders
  • PTSD
  • past concussions
