Are they really a narcissist?

Sep 16, 2024

As a brain health and neuroscience coach, I'm often asked what really defines a narcissist. While the line is thin between Narcissistic Personality Disorder and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder with a twist of ADHD and Bipolar, I always want to first ask how many of these symptoms this person exhibits. At the end of the day, a narcissist won't get help. Someone who seems selfish but commits to getting help is probably not a narcissist.

Chances are, you've had a few run ins with a narcissist if you're here. After all, if you're in my community, you're an empath. And narcissists LOVE empaths! They literally feed off of you.

I will be sharing more on narcissism and my experiences (both personal and from hundreds of my clients) over the coming days in hopes this information serves you or someone you love.

I haven't publicly talked about narcissism until now although my story begins in utero; and includes a career in forensic psychiatry; and 35+ years of up-close-and-personal experience. I honestly just didn't want to give the topic of narcissism or "them" my attention, especially in my business, so I buried all the related experiences, people, and pain deep down. With full knowing that a BIG manifestation is ready to come through for me, I also knew that meant a BIG block was going to come to the surface for clearing.... For me, this is my relationship with narcissists and the hundreds of clients I've supported in recovery from narcissistic abuse.

Energy doesn't lie and if this embarrassing, painful wound is ready for me to heal, I know it is relevant for many of you.. and I want to provide you with HOPE that healing from narcissist abuse IS possible!!! and it doesn't have to take years or involve Ayahuasca.

First, let's go over the common traits of a narcissist:

  • narcissists have to be in control of everyone and everything around them at all times in hopes of being perceived as the "best" or most powerful
  • narcissists constantly need attention and affirmation- they are "always on" in terms of seeking validation from others
  • narcissists expect perfection at all times. If something around them "goes wrong", they blame everyone except themselves. When things turn out "perfectly" or "successfully", they take all the credit
  • deep down, narcissists are constantly afraid of being rejected, ridiculed, or wrong so they don't trust other people yet put on the facade that they have great relationships
  • narcissists have no boundaries and believe that anything or anyone they desire is theirs for the taking
  • narcissists have no empathy; they can't read facial expressions or understand why other people feel sad, mad, or anxious
  • narcissists do not have the ability to love or connect with others emotionally
  • narcissists often struggle with alcoholism, cocaine addiction, and sex addiction. This is because these actions stimulate the front of their brain, the part of their brain that is "not working" (I have seen about 50 narcissist brain scans including one of my ex's. It's a very predictable brain pattern in forensic psychiatry, learn more at pubmed.gov for peer reviewed scientific research.)
  • narcissists are VERY charming which is why many empaths don't realize they are caught up with a narcissist until much later
  • a narcissist will never admit to being a narcissist; if they agree to go to therapy, they're only doing so to learn more ways to manipulate you
  • narcissists' words and actions never line up, leading to people around them feeling very confused, paranoid, and questioning their reality
  • narcissists cannot be a members of a team although many of them are CEOs of large organizations-- causing chaos in their work environment

I invite you now to reflect on your experience with a narcissist knowing it's not your fault. IT'S NOT YOUR FAULT. This is one of the biggest truths to integrate...

This is why energy work is SO important when you're recovering from narcissistic abuse. Narcissists, like dark entities, will literally put an energetic hook in you that can only be removed carefully and lovingly with the support of your God, angels, and guides. This is something I have been successful at helping my clients with.
